Our mission

Fire risk assessments protect people. Yet the tools most assessors rely on haven’t kept pace with the responsibility they carry — inconsistent templates, action plans written from memory, and hours lost formatting reports after every visit.

We’re building a platform that guides an assessor through a complete, structured assessment, drafts prioritised action plans grounded in the legislation, and produces a branded, audit-ready report — while keeping the professional firmly in control of every judgement.

The result is faster assessments, more consistent records, and a defensible paper trail that stands up to scrutiny.

James Davies

James Davies

Co-founder

James Davies brings over 12 years of experience in occupational health and safety, compliance, and fire safety. During his career, he has worked across six sectors, including facilities management, the public sector, education, construction, transport, and logistics.

Holding a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and professional memberships with IOSH, IIRSM, and APS, James combines technical expertise with hands-on industry experience. Having completed hundreds of risk assessments and worked closely with organisations of all sizes, he understands the challenges safety professionals face every day.

That experience has been the driving force behind Assura Safety. James worked alongside software developers to create a platform that genuinely helps fire risk assessors and health and safety professionals reduce administration, improve compliance, and spend more time focusing on what matters most—keeping people safe. His vision is simple: build technology that supports professionals, not replaces them.

Spencer Gibson

Co-founder

Spencer Gibson brings over a decade of experience in the agricultural industry, spanning sales, marketing and account management. He has built his career on long-term relationships with businesses of every size, and on understanding what they genuinely need from the tools they rely on.

Josh Cox

Josh Cox

Co-founder

Josh is a software developer with over ten years' experience building and launching successful web applications. In that time he's shipped products end to end and developed a deep understanding of infrastructure, architecture and what it takes to build software people rely on — the engineering foundation behind Assura Safety.
